NOTICE FOR LEARN TO SKATE FEBRUARY 23:
We are anticipating high interest in the Learn to Skate program during school vacation week due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the program.

We will be adding to the number of staff, but will need to limit the number of participants to 70 in order to provide a safe and quality experience.

The rink staff will begin admitting participants starting at 10:45am. Those that do not make the class, will not be able to skate until the commencement of our regular Public Skating session at 12:30. When standard entry fees apply.

A friendly reminder that the number of rental skates within any one size are limited. We suggest that you bring the proper size skates with you. Our skates start at Junior size 9.

Learn to Skate may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather

Things to know before you arrive:
  • You will need a sturdy pair of ice skates that provide good ankle support. Participants can bring their own or rent skates on site for $4. Please be advised, however that rental skates are available in limited sizes and quantities. Skaters are encouraged to bring his or her own skates for this activity.
  • As Winter Skate is an outdoor rink, don’t forget to bundle up! We recommend that skaters dress in layers of comfortable clothing that allow easy movement. Water-proof items are always a good choice because as with any rink, skaters who fall could get wet.
  • A helmet is required for anyone under the age of 6 and may be appropriate for beginners at any age. Helmets are not available at Winter Skate and should be brought individually.
