Fish Feeding
Join Bass Pro Shops Tuesday and Thursday in 2008 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., as well as every Saturday between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., for their regular schedule of live fish feedings at their 34,000 gallon, freshwater, educational aquarium. The aquarium is filled with over 400 native Massachusetts fish (courtesy of the Massachusetts Department of Fisheries and Wildlife). *** On Saturdays only, you may even be chosen to be the honorary fish feeder of the day! ***

*FREE* Hunter Education Course
April 14, 2008 - April 23, 2008
MassWildlife will be presenting their popular ***FREE*** Hunter Education Course in the Conservation Room at Bass Pro Shops. The class dates are Monday, April 14th; Wednesday, April 16th; Friday, April 18th; Saturday, April 19th; Monday, April 21st and Wednesday, April 23rd. Weekday times are 6pm-9pm and Saturday is 9am-4pm.

The course is taught by certified volunteer instructors and Massachusetts Environmental Police officers. Among the many topics covered will be the safe handling and storage of sporting arms and ammunition; hunting laws and ethics; wildlife identification; principles of wildlife management; and basic survival skills.

Classes are open to men, women and minors ages 10 to 17 years (with parental permission). The program includes a minimum of 12 hours of classroom instruction. *A Certificate of Completion from this course fulfills the requirements for an FID Card or LTC.* The Certificate is necessary for anyone who is purchasing a hunting license in any U.S. state or Canadian or Mexican province.

This course is ***FREE***, but you must Pre-register directly with MassWildlife by calling (978) 632-7648.

Fly Tying Classes
April 17, 2008 - May 1, 2008
Due to popular demand, we are bringing back our extremely successful weekly Fly Tying classes for the next three weeks, beginning Thursday, April 17th and continuing through May 1st (at which time we will be introducing a brand new Fly Casting class). These very informative classes are taught by our own expert fly tying instructor, Rob Lurie, from our in store Fly Fishing department. As always, these classes are *FREE*, but there is a $10 weekly charge to cover the costs of materials used. You can come to one or all three sessions and each one will be different. The course will be held inside our Fly Tying department on the lower level of the store and since space is limited, we request that you RSVP in advance to reserve your seat either by calling us at (508) 216-2000 or by e-mailing to dlwhite@basspro.com.

USCGAUX Boating Course
April 17, 2008 - May 29, 2008
The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering a Boating Safety Course inside the Foxborough store beginning on Thursday, April 17th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and continuing every Thursday evening for seven weeks (including the exam week) through May 29th. Rodney Johnson, FSO-PE 69, will be offering this course entitled "America's Boating Course" (soon being renamed "About Boating"). Classes will be held in the Conservation Room on the lower level and the class size is limited. So, please call the store at (508) 216-2000 or e-mail dlwhite@basspro.com to reserve your spot for this important and popular training. The class is available to both adults and youths (age 11 years old or older). The only cost of this class is a textbook which is sold for $35 and can be purchased on the evening of the first class session. If you must miss one class due to school vacations, that is OK, as long as you can keep up with the class material. This course is not only for MA residents, but is also valuable for RI and NH residents as well.

Fly Fishing Weekend
May 2nd – May 4th
Join us for our First Annual Fly Fishing Weekend where there is something for the beginner to the expert. Some of the areas that will be addressed are fly fishing tips and techniques, reading the water, trout tactics, stripers on the water, bassin' with a fly rod, carp in skinny water, boat and beach techniques, using a stripping basket, jetty basics and more.

Women's Introductory Archery Classes
May 12th, 19th & 26th
Ladies, have you ever picked up a bow and tried archery? You would be amazed how easy this can be and how much fun you will have. We are introducing new FREE Women's Introductory Archery Classes beginning Monday, May 12th at 6:00pm and continuing each Monday for three consecutive weeks through May 26th. The classes will be taught by our Olympic caliber female archery instructor Jill Oliveria in the state of the art Archery Range inside the Bass Pro Shops store in Foxborough. This class is FREE and bows will be provided to use during the training, but space is limited to twelve participants aged 13 years or older. Are you fascinated by fly fishing, but have no idea where to begin? Have we got the skills workshop for you. Our fly fishing experts from the Worldwide Sportman Fly Shop will give you all the basics to get you started the right way. These classes are free and no pre-registration is required. This class will be held on Friday evening, May 2nd from 6:00pm to 7:00pm inside the Fly Shop.

The classes will begin at 6:30pm behind the store and will run for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Please meet inside our Fly Fishing department on the lower level prior to each class. These very informative classes are taught by our own expert Fly Fishing department experts. You can come to one or all four sessions and each one will be somewhat different. Mass Cruisers Auto Club - FREE Cruise Night
May 8th – October 23rd
The Mass Cruisers Auto Club will be conducting their popular 2008 Cruise Night events in the Bass Pro Shops parking lot directly in front of the store. The Mass Cruisers are dedicated to preserving restoring and modifying classic older vehicles. Join us for these fun and FREE Cruise Nights, every other Thursday from May 8th through October 23rd (excluding July 3rd). Not only will you get a chance to see these amazing classic cars and trucks up close, but there is also a DJ, a 50/50 raffle and prizes. These events are open to everyone and do not require RSVPs.

FREE Field & Stream Total Outdoorsman Challenge
May 10th, 17th & 18th
Field & Stream and Bass Pro Shops are teaming up and looking for their next Total Outdoorsman or woman (someone that can best perform a combination of outdoor skills) and they think it might be you! You could win over $25,000 in cash and prizes!

Are you a total outdoorsman or woman? Do you think your bait casting, air rifle and archery skills are among the best?

Competitors in this challenge will test themselves in three disciplines and the people with the highest scores and quickest times in bait casting, archery, and air rifle advance to the regionals. You can compete in as many qualifiers as you wish to get the highest score possible.

Three different local Qualifiers are being held at the Bass Pro Shops - Foxborough store on Saturday, May 10th from 10:00am-2:00pm; Saturday, May 17th from 10:00am-2:00pm; and Sunday, May 18th from 11:00am-3:00pm.

The top six finishers from each local qualifier go on to compete in their Regional Qualifier (in Harrisburg, PA on Saturday, June 21st) for a chance to take on the best anglers and hunters in the nation at the Total Outdoorsman Challenge finals in Springfield, Mo. Sept. 5, 6, and 7.

The regional events will pit the top six finishers from each of the Bass Pro Shops qualifiers against competitors from last year's Total Outdoorsman Challenge National Championship in bait casting, fly casting, air rifle, and archery. The top two finishers from each region will win $250 and move on to the championships in Springfield, Mo.

There is no cost to compete, but space is limited to a maximum of 60 entrants per date. Make the Most of Your Campsite
May 17th & 18th
Join Chris Martin and our camping experts Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th from 12:00pm-6:00pm as they demonstrate how to make the most of your camping experience. See a complete campsite set up behind the store, including demonstrations on setting up a tent, sleeping bag options, cooking facilities (perhaps even Dutch oven cooking - weather permitting), as well as other camping related equipment. The emphasis is on fun, comfort and safety.

FREE Laser Arcade

As part of the fun during our National Go Outdoors Event & Sale, we will be offering FREE plays in our extremely popular indoor Laser Shooting Arcade on Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th between the hours of 12:00pm-6:00pm. Get to the store early, so you won't get shut out.

Chainsaw Wood Sculptor Demonstration

Come meet and watch noted Chainsaw Wood Sculptor - "The Machine" Jesse Green on Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th from 11:00am-4:00pm. Jesse will be conducting live demonstrations and creating some amazing items from wood logs right in front of the entrance to the Bass Pro Shops - Foxborough store. Cooking Demonstrations with FREE Samples

Join us on both Saturday, May 17th and Saturday, May 24th from 12:00pm-2:00pm for some FREE cooking demonstrations. With the help of our Camping and Gifts Departments, come and check out the range of products that we have for both your indoor and outdoor cooking enjoyment. From slow cookers, to fryers, to grills, we have something for everyone and will show you some tips and tricks to get the most out of these products. In addition, there will be great FREE samples to try of the items that area cooked. 

Fly Fishing Skills

Don't be intimidated if you never tried fly fishing. Learn fly fishing skills from our experts. Weather permitting; you will also get an opportunity to practice your fly casting on the lawn behind the store. Book Signing By Award Winning Author - Peter Budryk
May 24th & 25th 
Come to the store and meet and have your book personally signed by Cape Cod fisherman and popular New England author Peter Budryk, who wrote the award winning book "The Innermost Waters" Fishing Cape Cod Ponds & Lakes. Peter will be here on Saturday, May 24th from 9:30am-11:00am & 12:00pm-2:00pm and Sunday, May 25th from 10:00am-12:00pm.

In their Excellence in Craft Competition, the New England Outdoor Writers Association (NEOWA) judges awarded his work several prizes. Most prominently, in 2007, this book was judged 1st Place, Best Book, All Outdoor Categories, New England-Wide, Covering the Last 5 Years.

Johnsonville Brats and Beef Franks
May 24th
In the short time that the Foxborough Bass Pro Shops store has been open, it has already become a local traditional favorite occurrence to serve Johnsonville Brats & Beef Franks during major events, such as the National Go Outdoors Event & Sale. So, join us on Saturday, May 24th from 11:00am-1:00pm (or while supplies last) to enjoy these great family favorites. The Johnsonville Brats and Beef Franks will be cooked and served by one of our local non-profit organizations or conservation groups. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 for the brats and $1.00 for the beef franks and all proceeds raised will go directly to the local group cooking and serving.
