Fitness and Wellness Offerings 2012
At the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center, Wellness Center, we provide many opportunities for individual and group exercise for the general public (you do not have to be a patient of the Center). All classes are designed to help you maintain and/or become injury free while improving your overall fitness. Our approach is not, “no pain, no gain” but rather, TRAIN WITHOUT PAIN for LASTING GAINS!

Weight Loss Program: Fit for LifeDid you make a commitment to yourself to eat healthy, exercise regularly and lose weight in 2012? If so, this program is for you. In addition to one meeting per week you will be able to attend two other fitness classes per week of your choice or just workout on our equipment independently two other days. Also, there will be weekly weigh-ins. There will be lectures and discussions regarding the best strategies to lose weight and keep it off. So plan now to get ready for the spring and summer!
Class will meet on Mondays, 6:30-7:30 pm, April 9 - June 18. COST: $360 for 10 weeks
Golf FitnessPlan to make 2012 your best year ever on the links! We have partnered with our colleagues from the Mass General Orthopaedics Sports Performance Center to offer a golf assessment which includes a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) assessment, Proprio 5000 Balance Assessment, Functional Movement Screen and a measure of your drive distance.

PilatesThis class will help you improve posture and develop core control, which is the ability to move effectively and efficiently by transmitting force from the body's center through the torso and limbs. Pilates-evolved mat exercises coordinate diaphragmatic breathing with properly sequenced co-contractions of the deep abdominal, pelvic floor, and spinal musculature. There are countless different movement phrases, which are performed seated, standing, on all fours, or lying on your back, side, or front.

Cardio-SculptWant to sculpt your shape into something fabulous in 2012? Then this class is for you. Utilizing many formats, from dumbbells to bands to balls to some dance inspired moves, our instructor will give you a heart pumping workout that hits all the major muscles!
Mondays and Wednesdays: 5:30-6:20 pm. Cost: $80 for ten sessions
Aqua FitnessOur aqua fitness classes are for those that would benefit from the decreased stress on joints afforded by the buoyancy of water. You will develop core strength, flexibility and endurance for total body conditioning. This class is ongoing and meets for 45 minutes.
Mondays and Thursdays: 7:00-7:45 am,
Mondays and Wednesdays: 4:30-5:15 pm
Monday thru Friday: 9:30-10:15 am
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 5:15-6:00 pm
Cost: $120 for ten sessions
Big Ball Workout
This class will challenge your core strength, balance and agility with a total body workout utilizing stability balls as well as dumbbells and bands. Intensity will be adjusted to each individual. Come ready to work hard and have fun.

Group Classes not for you?
Our staff is ready to assist you individually as you begin your fitness journey or if you desire a change for 2012. Many of our staff are Certified Athletic Trainers, so we are able to make sure that your workout will fit your needs and be safe.
Getting Started Package:
Not sure what to do at the gym once you are there? Bored with what you are doing at the gym? Afraid of being injured while working out at the gym? Then our Getting Started Package is for you! We begin with a complete fitness assessment which includes: height, weight, BMI, balance, strength, flexibility and endurance. Based on those findings and a discussion of your goals, an individualized workout will be developed. Then you will return for four (4) more half hour workouts to develop proper form on all exercises and to progress you as you are ready. You will receive a hard copy of the exercises so you may do them at home or at your local gym. The four workouts will be spaced as far apart as you desire: weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly! Cost: $180
Personal Training Packages
We offer personal training packages for all ages, from youth to teens to adults to seniors. We are ready to challenge you to address muscle imbalances before they become injuries as well as to improve your overall fitness. We customize the workout to meet YOUR needs and YOUR goals.
Six 30-minute sessions: $230
Six one-hour sessions: $45
